Founded 1960, still in the family
In 1960, brothers Warren J. and Nelson Gottier began keeping their neighbors warm from a shop in Vernon. The vans said “Warren J. Gottier Plumbing & Heating.” The town still calls the same number.
Sixty-six winters later, Gottier Fuel Company is still family-owned and family-run — three generations of Gottiers — still working out of 221 West Main Street, still answering the phone at any hour when a burner goes quiet in the cold.
What changed is the fuel. Gottier is a certified Bioheat dealer: every delivery is heating oil blended with renewable biodiesel, burning cleaner in the same equipment that has always heated these towns.
